The year 2015 continues with our first event in partnership with TorCHI, Toronto ACM SIGCHI Chapter. We were delighted to bring our guest, ACM Distinguished Speaker Dr. Michael Macedonia, to give his presentation on “Next Generation Virtual Worlds” not once, but twice!
Our day began with a short trip to Markham, where our sponsor AMD hosted the Toronto ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter for the first time. The short road trip gave us an opportunity to chat with Mike and hear a few stories that he would not have time to cover. Once we arrived, we were overwhelmed… A whopping 200 eager attendees filled the conference room to listen to Michael’s perspectives on the current state of Virtual Reality! A fantastic showing and exciting beginning to our day!!
Later that evening we arrived at UofT for our evening session, sponsored by KMDI. Upon welcoming our attendees, we found that some of them had come from as far away as Montreal!! Delicious snacks were provided by TorCHI which were quickly gobbled up by our hungry audience. Their appetite for Virtual Reality was then satiated by Mike’s amazing content and personable presentation style.
After the presentation, the group proceeded to a local pub for some relaxed networking and good cheer.
